Closely associated with Saratoga Springs, New York is beautiful Saratoga Lake where the White Sulphur Springs Hotel once stood. Tommy C. Luther was the owner and proprietor of the hotel for fifty-three years, hosting generations of tourists as well as many famous celebrities of the early twentieth century. He also operated steamboats on the lake: “Lady of the Lake,” which could carry 2,000 passengers, and another, called “Steamboat Alice,” named after his wife, Alice Powell. Condition: Please carefully check the listing photos to determine condition. This card has the usual curve in the paper, the photos and card are soiled and the back has this handwritting: Sunday Aug 12th 1877. Payment: PayPal only please within 3 days of purchase.
